About The Syndicate
The Syndicate of Accountants and Auditors in the Kurdistan Region was established based on Law No. (18 of 2000), as an independent professional body headquartered in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with branches in the governorates of the Region and representation in independent administrative units. It aims to organize and develop the accounting and auditing profession in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq by upgrading and maintaining the profession and raising the professional, cultural, and economic capacity of its members, working to strengthen the spirit of collegiality and cooperation among members, defend their rights, securing their interests, provide economic and social services to them, and organize and monitor the rules and methods of practicing the profession.
Currently, the Syndicate has more than 30,000 members of accountants and auditors (chartered accountants), and the Syndicate seeks to provide a modern professional environment that supports its members with the knowledge and tools necessary to keep pace with the rapid developments in the world of accounting and auditing.
Vision
The Syndicate of Accountants and Auditors in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq envisions being the main reference for accountants and auditors, and to contribute to the development of a transparent and highly efficient accounting and financial environment, based on the principles of institutional governance.
Mission
To enable accountants and auditors to perform their professional role effectively by providing advanced training, enhancing the rules and methods of practicing the profession, and cooperating with local, regional and international bodies to enhance the position of the profession.

Enhancing compliance with international and local accounting and professional standards (accounting rules and the Iraqi auditing manual).

Cooperating with government and academic agencies to develop financial and accounting legislation.

Cooperating with legislative and government authorities to enable accountants and auditors to comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF).
